KENOVA, WV (WOWK) – Teachers in Wayne County and all across the nation are being celebrated this week as “Teacher Appreciation Week” wraps up.
At Buffalo Middle School in Kenova, staff and students participated in different events and activities this week, including “Survivor”-style challenges. The staff at the school say the event is taking place ahead of the state testing for the students.
“We’re getting ready to do state testing next week, so it’s just trying to get everyone together, also to relax all the kids. They see us doing things that are not so ‘test.’ We’re not worried about the tests. We’re ready for them, they’re ready, and just make it more fun,” said Amie Jobe, 6th grade English teacher at Buffalo Middle School.
To end the events, at the end of the day someone will be winning a grand prize!
